Deborah has worked across the fashion and textile industry, garnering a wide range of experience in textile pattern; handbags and lifestyle product design. A graduate in a B A Hons degree at Central Saint Martins in Womenswear, Deborah went on to specialise in freelancing for the UK highstreet and smaller start up labels, working within textiles for interior and lifestyle, creating products from conception to market. Her love for pattern and colour, objects and interiors has lead to a bold fusion of personal work, ranging from large artwork pieces to original textile and surface pattern for the home.
Just recently moving to Vancouver with her family and a childhood spent growing up in South Africa, Deborah’s work carries a wonderful mix of nature and vivid colour blocking shapes.
Her work often references nature, shadows and sihouhettes of plants and landspaces. Mostly using patterns in an abstract form and relating that to personal journeys and human emotions. A lover of stripes and bold pattern, a dominate feauture in her work, you will find a cohesive fusion of colour and a delicate wash of inks and textures on canvas.
